sad to report that huell howser passed away.
not sure that anyone outside california would know who he is, but if you grew up here, huell and his various shows were ubiquitous on public television. he was a charmingly folksy guy who made pretty much any subject seem as though it was fascinating.
phil does a great impression of his “well that’s amazing!” catchphrase, pulling it out when we are doing the most mundane things: “it’s a bran muffin, well that’s amazing!”
huell, you will be missed.

I watched him when I lived there. Always good TV. RIP.
